Tri-County Electric Cooperative Names New Board Officers

Aledo, Texas (December 20, 2024)—Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCEC), an electric distribution cooperative serving 16 counties in North Texas, today announced new officers on its Board of Directors.

At the regular monthly meeting of the TCEC Board of Directors held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, David Miller was elected to serve as chair of the board. The nine-member board also elected Timmy Yeary to serve as vice chair and Sommer Portwood as board treasurer and secretary.

Miller’s first board meeting was in January 2024, and Yeary’s and Portwood’s were in December 2024 and October 2022, respectively.

“Working with the new board officers, TCEC is well positioned to tackle the challenges that face the cooperative. Together, we can guide TCEC through its financial challenges while continuing to deliver safe and reliable power to members,” said Scott Spence, President and CEO.

The Board of Directors is composed of:
• Kevin Ingle, District 1
• Margaret Koprek, District 2
• David Manning, District 3
• David Miller, District 4
• Steve Harris, District 5
• Timmy Yeary, District 6
• Sommer Portwood, District 7
• Jarrett Armstrong, District 8
• Max Waddell, District 9

Established in 1939, Tri-County Electric Cooperative is an electric distribution cooperative that serves more than 110,000 members across 16 counties in the north Texas region. The cooperative provides and distributes power to more than 131,900 meters on 9,900 miles of distribution lines. Tri-County Electric Cooperative’s mission is to provide safe, reliable power at the lowest possible cost.
