Power Your Future: 2026 Youth Scholarships

Tri-County Electric Cooperative's Scholarship Program assists our young members with their future education. We're excited to continue providing the means to further our young members' education.

This year, we're awarding forty (40) $5,000 scholarships to high school seniors pursuing an academic degree or certification from an accredited university, college, junior college, or technical school. 

Applications are no longer being accepted for the 2026 Scholarships. The deadline to apply ended on Feb. 13, 2026.

DETAILS

  • Available Awards: 40 individual scholarships of $5,000 each. A total of $200,000 will be awarded.
  • Application Period: October 13, 2025 - February 13, 2026, 11:59 PM
  • Award Timeline: Scholarship winners will be announced in April 2026
  • All recommendation letters must be emailed to communications@tcectexas.com, directly from the person who is writing it.

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • Be a current senior in high school graduating in 2026
  • Reside with parents or legal guardians who are active members of TCEC
  • NOT be an immediate family member of Tri-County Electric's Leadership Team

How Our Scholarships Are Funded

The TCEC Scholarship program is paid for using unclaimed funds, such as capital credit checks, that have not been cashed in three years. Texas law permits electric cooperatives to use a portion of these funds for limited purposes such as scholarships. These dollars would go to the state's general funds if TCEC did not repurpose them and reinvest the funds back into the local community.
