ALEDO, TX, October 3, 2024 Members of North Texas-based Tri-County Electric Cooperative’s (TCEC) line crew continue to restore power and hope to southern Georgia residents affected by Hurricane Helene.
Twenty-three TCEC crew members from Azle, Granbury, Keller and Seymour joined thousands of other linemen who hit the road and traveled to help the communities devastated by the storm last week across Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas and Tennessee.
The crew’s first stop was to lend a hand to residents and businesses served by Middle Georgia EMC, located two hours south of Atlanta. With power restored to the Middle Georgia EMC members our TCEC crew was tasked in assisting, the crew members packed up their equipment and headed back on the road to help Planters EMC in eastern Georgia restore power to its members.
One TCEC lineman shared, “I’m honored to be able to help these people in need. Despite the damage around them, people here have been smiling and kind.”
TCEC President and CEO Scott Spence said, “We are proud to say that our Tri-County Electric Cooperative linemen did not hesitate to answer the call for help. While their work cannot reverse the storm’s devastation, we hope that it provides families a first step on their own paths to recovery.”
