In a letter to the Cooperative’s Board, David Miller, District 4 Director, has resigned from the Tri-County Electric Cooperative Board of Directors. The letter reads as follows:
After careful consideration, in depth discussion with my family and trusted friends, and in the best interests of all parties, I have made the decision to tender my resignation from the Tri-County Electric Cooperative Board of Directors effective immediately.
This decision was not reached easily, but due to the demands of this position and the impacts of that on other obligations in my life such as the non-profit therapeutic riding stables operating by my wife and myself, the needs of caring for my disabled adult daughter, and my other professional and personal obligations, it has become virtually impossible to give all of those commitments the time and attention they deserve while committing the required amount of time and effort needed to be a successful board member and more recently board chairman. As such, in order to allow the co-op to be led by a board chair who is able to give this position the appropriate level of time and attention, I have made the decision to step down.
I will always have a fond appreciation for my time serving on the board and as board chairman and strongly appreciate those who supported me throughout this period. It is my hope that as I would expect from anyone else in a similar situation, that I have to put the needs of my family first while also not asking the co-op to sacrifice the amount of time needed from the board chairman to function to the fullest capacity. It is my hope that many of the positive changes that have been ushered into the co-op’s operations over the last 14 months will continue and that our members will continue to benefit from those improvements.
I extend my sincerest well wishes to the remaining board members, CEO Scott Spence, to the TCEC staff, and to each of our members for the future.
Sincerely,
David Miller
