Board of Directors Update

Thursday | February 20, 2025
All News

Aledo, Texas (February 20, 2025) – Tri-County Electric Cooperative’s (TCEC) Board of Directors, as permitted by Cooperative Bylaws, has removed District 5 Director Steve Harris and District 8 Director Jarrett Armstrong from the Board.

In addition, District 1 Director Kevin Ingle resigned from the Board during the February meeting.

Mr. Harris had been serving as an elected member of a government organization in violation of TCEC Bylaws.

Mr. Armstrong repeatedly engaged in behavior and actions prohibited by the director conduct section of the Bylaws, leading to multiple progressive suspensions and his dismissal.

The District 1, 5, and 8 Board seats will remain vacant until new directors are elected in the 2025 election process later this year. The District 1 winner will serve the remaining one year of the current term. District 5 was already scheduled for 2025 with a three-year term to begin after the election. The District 8 winner will serve the remaining two years of the current term.

TCEC Board members serve three-year terms, with three seats up for election each year. As a result of the District 1 and 8 changes, a total of five seats will be up for election in 2025.

New updates are now in place to ensure Board members and candidates are aware of, and meet all, qualifications during the campaign and while on the Board. Full details are available at tcectexas.com/director-elections.
