Winter Weather - 1.30.2023

Monday | January 30, 2023
All News

Icy roads and slick surfaces will be prominent over the next few days. We want to share some resources on how to stay safe and inform our members what we are doing to prepare for the extreme weather.

Weather Alert Resources

  • Tune in to your local news channel for the latest forecasts and updates. A list of networks is available to help find your channel.

  • Stay indoors! Below freezing temperatures can lead to serious health consequences, including hypothermia and frostbite.

  • If you must drive, use caution and drive slowly. Make sure your gas tank is full, too!

  • Road conditions are continuously updated by the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDoT).

What Tri-County Electric Co-op is Doing

  • Linemen are prepared to respond to calls

  • Leadership is watching the radar and road conditions carefully

  • System Operations is monitoring ERCOT grid conditions

  • Member Service is available to connect online or by phone

Reporting an Outage

Tri-County Electric Co-op believes the extensive work plan and maintenance work performed over the past few years will allow the distribution system to stand against the winter weather with minimal outages.

If you experience an outage, you may report online, through TCEC Connect, or by texting “OUTAGE” to 25069

Know that nothing is more important to Tri-County Electric Co-op than providing reliable electric service to keep you and your family safe. While some events are beyond our control, we too have been working hard to ensure that we are as prepared as possible.

Winter Weather Recommendations & Resources

  • Check grid conditions regularly

  • Drip faucets to avoid bursting pipes

  • Bring your pets and plants inside
