Position Summary:

This position is located in our Fort Worth Office and is responsible for the efficient and economic estimation, design and construction of underground and overhead electric distribution system additions, improvements, and retirements.  Coordinates and manages system projects.  Corresponds with land developers, civil engineers, homebuilders, municipalities, consultants, utility contractors, and current and future members of the Cooperative.  Creates construction prints, CAD prints, drawings, cost and material estimates, easements, and surveys.


Primary Responsiblities:

Complies with TCEC design standards, policies, procedures, rules, and guidelines
Prepares cost estimates for line extension requests
Interprets PDF & CAD drawings provided by potential clients
Designs underground infrastructure for small and large scale projects
Designs overhead facilities on a small and large scale
Performs system feeder analysis such as fault current, voltage, and power factor studies
Procures and creates easements
Meets extensively with new customers
Attends governmental utility coordination meetings as needed
Attends various pre-construction meetings as needed
Assists in project management and construction of work orders
Performs various GIS and mapping activities
Prepares in timely manner all required and requested reports, time sheets, expense forms, etc
Performs other duties as requested by management
Attends safety and employee meetings and functions
Makes presentations to other departments within the Cooperative
Assists in projects that support TCEC’s goals, activities, and objectives
Attends public and private meetings, conferences, schools, training, and other related activities
Responds to member inquiries in a timely and professional manner
Works with material manager on procurement of necessary material & equipment

Education and/or Certification Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED Equivalency
Associate Degree from an accredited school in a related field is highly preferred
Bachelor Degree in a related field is a plus

Preferred Experience:

Knowledge of utility distribution systems
Knowledge of National Electric Codes and National Electric Safety Codes

Skills & Abilities:
Ability to prepare and deliver written and oral communications.
Knowledge of basic mathematics.
Ability to work in office and field environments.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Ability to work in a team or group environment.
Must wear Personal Protection Equipment & apparel.
Ability to work under deadlines; has the capability of problem-solving skills.
Must be well organized, ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage mulitple projects simultaneously.
Ability to be mentored.
Maintain a valid Texas driver license.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds.
Ability to travel, if necessary, for business and training.
Able to work flexible and/or extended hours as needed or directed.
Able to work inside and outside in all types of weather.
Successful completion of criminal background check.
Successful completion of driver license check.
Successful completion of pre-employment physical exam.
Successful completion of drug/alcohol/substance abuse screen.
